You could probably stick Tiger in the "Hot Heads" category, too.
Tom Watson in the Popular/Admired, and Stricker in the great putters
Joe, great article. Best swings - you left off Louie Oosthuizen! It was one of your responses in my "Swings" thread & my personal fav.
Agree with most, but Tiger needs to be listed under Most Popular & Most Admired. Though many don't like him, I think many more do, particularly if we are talking about his GOLFING popularity and admiration.
On another note, I didn't see my name on Strange Swings, Bad Boys & Hotheads, or Oddballs and Characters. Thanks.
Bubba should be on whiners/hotheads too.
joe jones says:
Tiger in Hot heads yes,
Tiger most popular. marginal. probably 50-50.
Watson & Stricker- For sure. Sorry about that
Bubba- Sometimes. His emotions swing both ways. Sometimes hot sometimes cool Dude.
Travino in strange swings.
Tom Watson in his prime was a wild bomber off the tee, not a straight hitter. Until his putting went in the late 1980s, his only rival for short game greatness was Seve. His game in the last twenty years is almost completely the reverse of what it was in his prime.
I nominate Nick Faldo for the Steady Eddies.
Woody Austin for the Hot Heads.
Characters would include Mac O' Grady and the immortal Chi Chi Rodriguez.
joe jones says:
Wonderful additions. keep them coming guys.
joe jones says:
Great character studies. Do a google or youtube search on Titanic Thompson. George Low,Bobby Locke, Eamonn Darcy and Ky Lafoon.Stranger than fiction.
Mac O'Grady is an oddball.
