To wrap up British Open coverage I thought it was noteworthy that while Tiger didn't play it didn't stop a Wood from a Top 5 finish. Twenty year old amateur Chris Wood finished +10 good enough for fifth place and the silver medal given for the top amateur finish. His interview afterwards was heartfelt and as jumbled as you'd expect from the situation. Wood couldn't hide his own shock at such an amazing feat.

I'd say this will not be the last we hear from Chris Wood. He is actually relatively new to the game of golf (not playing since he was 2) and thanks in large part to his finish at The Open Championship is now the number one amateur on Golfweek's World Amateur Rankings.
