Doug Barron. /crickets Those who know him think it was probably something in a medicine he was taking. The PGA Tour announced the 1 year long suspension just 2 hours before the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and had no further comment. Eh- someone had to break the ice. I guess the PGA Tour should feel pretty fortunate that their first ever suspension was 2 years after the policy was enacted. I think baseball lasted about 2 minutes. "The tour is not required to suspend or announce any punishment for recreational drugs." so maybe, but it was most likely something for medicinal purposes that he didn't declare he was taking. 11/3/09
For his sake I hope it was recreational, I mean if it was performance enhancing he needs to get his money back from his dealer, it didnt help him at all. Either way, he knew what he was getting into when he joined the tour and they made the rules. Guess he needs to get a job like the rest of us now. 11/3/09
