The Viagra Smuggler!

A former law enforcement officer was recently arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport for trying to smuggle 40,000 counterfeit Viagra, Cialis and Levitra tablets in his golf bag.
Lee's arrest comes after U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at LAX discovered more than $700,000 worth of phony erectile dysfunction pills in his luggage when he returned from a trip to Korea Feb. 25. Specifically, the criminal complaint states that Lee's luggage contained 29,827 counterfeit Viagra tablets, 8,993 counterfeit Cialis pills and 793 phony Levitra tablets, all concealed in aluminum foil wrapped packets. According to the complaint, when HSI agents at LAX questioned Lee about whether the medication was for his personal use, he said if he used all of the pills it would kill him because he had a heart condition.Lee really blew that one. I'm sure he's facing a stiff penalty. I imagine he had a hard time trying to convince the arresting officer that the 40k pills were for "personal" use.
If I was trying to smuggle drugs (which of course I never would because it's ILLEGAL), my golf bag would be the last place I'd try to stash them. In my experience traveling with my clubs, TSA always rummages through my travel case and moves things around in my golf bag, which would make it impossible get anything by them. You'd have better luck trying sneak something in your carry on or on your body. But in reality, there is no "good" place to smuggle a huge back of 40,000 tablets.

Agree with the bag search. Things are always moved around in my bag when I fly.
hehe. stiff penalty.
Hard decision on where to hide the pills. Guess he didn't think long enough about it.
Was he supplying Charlie Sheen for a weekend bender?

if they're fake, then there's no foul. but if there is Vardenafil, Tadalafil, or Sildenafil derivatives...that's another matter.
