Between Kevin Na, Morgan Pressel, and Ross Fisher, the topic of pace of play has received a lot of media attention lately.
While slow play may be an issue at most golf courses around the world, Davie Golf and Country Club wants to avoid the issue at its facilities, so it posted the following reminders on its scorecard.

please check your ego and let the younger group behind you play through, not everyone enjoys a 5 1/2 hour round. 6/6/12
Please don't hit three balls off the tee box while the group behind you is waiting! 6/6/12
Do any damn thing you please............ As long as you can average 13.3 minutes per hole! Let's face it, all the suggestions in the world won't help if they don't want to play on time. And.....btw......age and gender have nothing to do with pace of play. Some of those old ladies on the course are finishing in 3 and a half hours or less. 6/6/12

GreggScott. Right on. It's been my experience that most women play faster than the mens groups. They also play by the rules most of the time. 6/6/12
My buddies and I were the first out after a ladies league last summer. We all rolled our eyes and said this round is going to take forever.....and then we proceeded to barely be able to keep up with them. 6/7/12
The cart girl is not going home with you. Don't waste your time or everyone else's behind you. 6/7/12
DougE +1 Duke +1 mjaber +1 Golfsmith +1 bkuekn +1 Wait for the group in front of you to fully leave the green before your approach shot. You aren't above missing the green, don't bet someone else's skull on it. 6/7/12
I was behind a guy at a par 3 who took 12 practice swings (I counted them) from the rough off the green. Then when he finally hit it, the ball landed two feet in front of him...still in the rough. So take 1 or less practice swings. 6/7/12
Don't circle the Green like a toilet bowl checking every blade of grass for deflection. Please, look at it, pick a line, and putt. Didn't someone say plumb-bobbing is not cool? I'm just saying... 6/7/12
joe jones says:
All I see when I plumb bob is the back of my thumb. I understand the theory but it just doesn't work for me. I pride myself on being able to read greens and rarely leave a putt on the low side so I will continue to go by instinct and let all the bobbers continue to use the method. 6/7/12
@clevelandstever - i've noticed as well that ladies, even a foursome of high caps will typically play quite fast. they play from the appropriate tees, they don't labor over every shot and they rarely overswing, resulting in less horribly off line shots. 6/7/12
Treat the golf course like a crime scene. Leave no trace that you were ever there (fix ball marks, fill divots, rake bunkers, 90* rule with carts, and don't affect the pace of play). 6/7/12
