Trick shot: Rory McIlroy edition By mustang6560 on 7/10/12
How many attempts would it take you to hit the crossbar of a soccer goal with a golf ball from 150 yards?
Well, if you're Rory McIlroy, it only takes "a few". At a PR event for EA Sports, Rory successfully completed the Crossbar Challenge. From 150 yards, he managed to hit the crossbar (which has a diameter of probably six inches or less) of a soccer goal. Of all of the trick shot videos I've seen from professional golfers, I'm pretty confident that I could more easily pull this one off. It may take several hundred golf balls and a few days to actually do it, but I bet I could hit the cross bar...eventually. If I had to put a specific number, I'd say it would take me 213 attempts to hit the crossbar. What about you? You think you can do it? read more Image via Flickr, internetsense Did I miss something? Tip Your Editor [ comments ] Well I've hit a no carts sign that was about inch and a half tall and about 6 inches long and about a foot in the air, on the fly before. It was a omg I can't blieve I hit that sign moment, but then my brother is like "dude that would have bounced nice on to the green and been right next to the hole for a short birdie putt", so I replayed the shot in my head and was like "FUDGE" of course not really the word I used lol. 7/10/12
I would just have to try to hit anything but the crossbar and I'd probably hit it within a few swings. 7/10/12
I hit a 2 inch thick branch on a dead tree from 40 yards straight and that tree only had about four other branches on it. It was harder to hit the branch than miss it, that's how good I am ;-) 7/10/12
What's the best way to remove the sticks from a tootsie pop? I clamp the stick in a vise and pull the candy, it works best if the tootsie pop is warm. It's one of my favorite candies but I hate the stupid paper stick. 7/10/12
Rory posted a better video of the shot so you can actually see he legitimately hit the crossbar. social.rorymcilroy.com/videos/201476 7/12/12
