Hank Haney is at it again. This time with his Grip Strength DVD & Exerciser.
To be honest, at first glance Hank’s Grip Strength Exerciser seemed generic and irrelevant for golfers. However, once I began to use it at my desk, I realized how beneficial it could be. The Grip Strength Exerciser is not going to make you a scratch golf, but it will help improve your grips by increasing your forearm strength, finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Unlike most grip exercises, Hank’s exerciser is designed to strength each finger individually. Also included in this product is a 26-minute instruction DVD. Hank explains why a strong grip is fundamental and how your grip provides control of your club face and improves stability and accuracy.
Whether you are trying to improve the strength of your grip or you just want something to do at your desk to help relieve stress, Hank’s Grip Strength Exerciser will do the trick. At $24.95, I think it's a little pricey, especially when first impressions don't wow you as much as actually using it.
On the plus side, for one of you- the first person to comment on this post wins our test unit.

Does it come with a Charles Barkley instructional video too?
@brandon carr- WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!
My thoughts on the product- looks like it'd be fun to play with while watching tv... good for trumpet players. a little pricey though...
I have one of those gizmos, without the HH DVD. I use it to strengthen the fingers in my weaker left hand, predominantly for guitar playing. The ability to push each finger independantly rather than just squeezing with your whole hand is great. I never made the connection that it would improve my golf grip until reading this article.
If you can do without the DVD then you can pick up a 'gripmaster' for half the price. I was so close to being first :(
Alright! Thanks! I actually used to be a trumpet player. I'm also ambidextrous. I'm a dominant lefty but I swing baseball, hockey, and golf righty. Either way, I could always use some improvement. I've never gotten use to that whole "tube of toothpaste" grip so maybe this will zero in on exactly how I'm supposed to be holding the club.
Or if you just want the device sans DVD, it's about half the price: www.amazon.com/Gripmaster-Pro-Strengthening-Extr
I saw it at the show and didnt think much of it.
Not many people know about the grip muscles & how they affect the hands, wrist, forearms & elbows. GRIP-ONLY exercisers are at the route of all repetitive grip injuries of the hand, wrist & elbow. Hank Haney is just promoting another grip-only device because he knows no better and neither do most golfers... and trumpet players. Handmaster Plus exercises the hand muscles properly and is based on proper mechanical knowledge of balance, grip and grip muscles.
