Interlachen Country Club is where Bobby Jones won the 1930 U.S. Open on his way to a still-legendary Grand Slam. In fact, the club has hosted a long and impressive string of major championships and international events:

Willie Watson did the original design here in 1909, but Donald Ross redesigned the course in 1919. That design remains much the same today, although Geoffrey Cornish did some updates and restoration to the course in 1986. In fact, the signature 9th hole remains much the same as it was in 1930, when Jones hit his famous "lily pad" shot in the U.S. Open. ICC has consistently rated among the top golf courses in the United States.

Interlachen is a private club; visitors are permitted only as accompanied guests of members.

The staff is great. The pace of play was about 3 and a half hours for a foursome walking. Great course, the only reason I gave value four stars is probably due to the fact of price alone, I just have trouble seeing any course worth that much. But it is worth seeing at least a time or two.
