![]() Escondido, CA 92026-6918 www.MeadowLakeGolfClub.com 760.749.1620 This course dates to 1961 and is usually regarded as one of the most popular public / semi-private courses in the San Diego region. Four sets of tees stretch the course from 5,326 to 6,629 yards, including fairways lined with hundreds of old-growth oaks and chapparal, with just 26 bunkers punctuating the layout. Excellent views of the San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountain ranges are in abundance. A 200-plus seat banquet hall, a fireside room, and a large outdoor patio can accommodate group, social, and corporate events. A golf shop is also on-premises. Course Details
Average Hole Difficulty
Played here this morning, tried to tee off before the crowd. The cashier was late, had to wait for the shop to open (holiday week!). Then the starter sent the first groups setting up the pace of the game for the rest of us: one group - FIVE-some averaging over 80 years of age, the next group took 25 minutes (I'm not kidding!) to play the first par-4 hole! When I asked a marshal to do something about the pace of the game, he just lashed out at me and started telling me that I should leave the course because I don't know how to play (I topped the first ball and it only flew 100 yards, which is what you get when you go play at 6:30 and don't warm up, so the marshall pretty much verbally attacked me just for my first shot). On the back nine, we cought up with two foursomes of walkers who came out of nowhere, so now even the "super-senior" five-some had to wait for those guys to take the shots. All and all, long time wasted waiting for super-slow players ahead of you, crappy club house, no basic services, no beverage cart on course, sub-par fairways, slow greens, and on top of it: HORRIBLE customer service from marshalls with superiority complex! Yes, the course is cheap, but it's truly "CHEAP". Nice track tucked away in the backside of Escondido. Here's a good review: Meadow Lake Golf Course Review on Go Golf San Diego Your Review
