This is a decent course and is maintained pretty well. The course is fairly easy but fun. Problem with this course is the lack of hospitality - which completely diminishes the experience in general. In short, I wouldn't play this course again if you threatened to shoot me and my family if I didn't. This is one of those annoying semi-private courses where the staff and the "members" think they are all high and mighty because they belong to a "club." You don't. This is a public course where you basically paid in advance to play and it is not a country club so stop pretending like it is. I played here 4 times and each time I was treated like white trash by the staff. Horrible place and horrible staff. Stay away unless you want to pay your green fees for the year in advance, become a "member" and pretend you belong to a country club. Pathetic! Beautiful course, well-manicured greens! However, you could not pay me to play here ever again! The staff was very friendly to the members, but they treated my brother and I like dirt. They barely acknowledged that we existed, let alone make us feel welcome. Before we went out, the starter told us there was a tournament at 9:30. We asked if that would slow up play (as we like to play quickly). He said it shouldn't as it was a normal tournament. Then he proceeded to tell us how great one of the members in front of us was. Then he walked away and ignored us. This is the fourth time we have played here and it is the same every time. Staff even ignored my brother completely once when he asked them a question. Anyway, we played the front nine at normal pace (actually pretty fast). Then at the turn, the starter stopped our cart with a sour look on his face. He then "reminded" us that "you need to be off the course by 9:30. You were told." After I stopped having flashbacks to my mother yelling at me as a child, we asked what he was talking about as he told us the tournament would not slow up play. He then repeated his scolding that we were told we had to be off - nothing could be further from the truth. I suppose he told us the wrong thing in the beginning, and when he realized it he had to act like a jerk and make us feel like idiots. I have never heard of a course kicking off everyone who wasn't in the tournament. We finished by 9:30 anyway, and he didn't even say anything to us as we took our bags off the cart and walked to the parking lot. This is a nice course and close to my house, but you could not get me back here. I'd rather drive an hour and a half every weekend to Olde Homestead golf course and be treated like a human being, hit a free bucket of balls, and be the first ones on the course. Olde Homestead is much more of a challenge, more scenic, and a much better value too. It's a shame though - the staff ruin the appeal of this course. Stay away if you are not a member. If you are a member, you're treated like you're at a country club. But it's not a country club. It's open to the public. My money is green too. Last played it 2 years ago and wonder why I didn't play it more often than that. Great shape with greens that ran fast. We had a twosome in front of us that were slow and a foursome who let them by and that threw a monkey wrench in everything. we had a foursome of ladies behind us,so it was no big deal but it woulda been nice to move in front of the group ahead of us, since they had a senior and a lady. All in all, a great course. I plan on playing it again this year. Very nice course, more challenging from the back tees. Greens speedy, but true. Got a great price at GolfNow... One of the best in the area. Excellent condition, fast/true greens. The tee boxes and greens are painted green though...very strange if you've never seen this before. Play this course!!! One of the best public courses in South Eastern PA. Very nice staff, good rates and a super course. Your Review
