Fort Brown Memorial Golf Course

This is the southern-most golf course in the 48 contiguous United States; it is located on 165 acres of land on the banks of the Rio Grande, immediately across from Matamoros, Mexico. In fact, they have a local rule prohibiting the hitting of golf balls into Mexico - violators have been prosecuted for breaking the rule, because residential areas and a hospital are immediately across the river.

The walking rate is $12; carts are $10.

Slow play. The fairways and the greens have a lot of work ahead of them in order to get another star from me. But, its very cheap to play here. So there is the trade off.
