5608 Flat Rock Rd Waco, TX 76708-5806 www.LakeWacoGolf.com 254.756.2161 This private club was previously known as "Lake Waco Golf & Country Club" and later as "The Lakes Country Club," but foreclosure occurred in December of 2011, with new ownership by two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Bob Richards and a slightly modified name. It features two 18-hole courses located adjacent to Lake Waco, both designed by Homan Easley in 1963. In recent times, the club was the host facility of the Heart of Texas Junior Golf Foundation. The main course hosted the LPGA's Waco Tribune Herald Ladies Classic from 1966 until 1973. It includes just 18 bunkers, although seven lakes are also in play. The 18-hole executive course has five water hazards and is well-suited to beginning and higher-handicap players.
