WestRidge Golf Course

Among WestRidge GC's claims to fame is that they are the only course in Texas with six par-5 holes (accompanied by six par-3s and six par-4s). Unlike most of the other courses in McKinney, West Ridge is open to the public.

Great course. I live 5 minutes from this course and utilize all the practice facilities. If you can not hit it long, do NOT play this course. Makes for a very long day.

In much better shape than when it opened up a few years ago, but the back 9 is still spotty when it comes to bunkers - sand is often accumulated in the bottom, leaving bare clay walls. But there are some really nice fairways, and layout is good.

This course is played throughout a community in McKinney, TX. The course is separated by a thoroughfare, which has an underground bridge to get you from the driving range to the first tee. As this is a recently built course, there are not alot of high/old growth trees, but there are plenty of rolling hills to add landscape to the course. There is plenty of fairway, making it very forgiving for the amateur golfer, and there are a couple well placed sand traps to keep you from driving too erratically. Overall, this is a decent course for the money in Northern DFW.
