Experience at Koele, The

This rather lush course opened in 1991 with a design between architect Ted Robinson and two-time major champion Greg Norman, with views of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean in the distance. Pine, koa, and eucalyptus trees frame this Hawaii-parkland course, which includes sculpted bunkers and terraced water hazards. The signature hole here is 17, which plays from a 250-foot (76-metre) elevated tee to a fairway bordered by a lake on one side and dense foliage the other.

The standard fee for guests of both hotels of the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i is $210; non-guests pay $225. Replay and 9-hole rates are also available.

Absolutely worth it. Staff was very helpful. Stunning views. Weather is milder than at the oceanside The Challenge course.
