Callippe Preserve Golf Course

Architect Brian Costello designed this course, while opened in November of 2005 below the Pleasanton ridgeland, with abundant views of Mount Diablo. Five sets of tees stretch the course from 4,788 to 6,748 yards.

The standard non-resident walking rates are $45 on weekdays, $65 on weekends (carts are $15/person). Resident, junior, senior, 9-hole, and sliding twilight rates are offered, as are memberships.

Nice course with interesting holes. It is a challenging walk and pace of play can be slow. My one knock on this track is the poorly executed 18th hole, a par 5 that is a 3w or hybrid off the tee with no chance to reach in two. Seems like they ran out of room and carved the last hole out of whatever was left.

There are quite a few gimick holes here, I played from the Blue tees, and could only hit driver on a few holes. Most other holes force hitting a fairway metal or long iron from the tees. I would prefer a better mix of holes, as I felt like they were all very similar. The course can play challenging (especially if the wind is up) which is fun, I will play here again.

A lot of interesting holes. Greens are tough, especially when it seems that few people fix their divots here. The course is quite walkable, although a few holes on the back will show you how out of shape you are. The wind is usually a factor here.

What you pay for this course is well worth it. The only thing that could make this course better would be the following:
1) faster greens, 2) a few water hazards, and 3) faster pace of play on the weekends.
