Echelon Golf Club

This semi-private country club and the surrounding luxury, gated residential community covers more than 600 acres of rolling terrain outside Atlanta. The course dates to 2006 with a design by the architect nicknamed the "Open Doctor," Rees Jones.

Just an awesome course. Who cares about a clubhouse? You are there to golf, and this is a great place to do it.

Awesome track, the only downside was no cart girl or club house.

A little on the expensive side for GA but as a visitor from the DC area...about the same price as the higher-end courses here. The biggest difference is the amenities. They had plans for a clubhouse that I was told may never be finished. They're using a trailer as the temp/perm clubhouse. No beer is sold in the trailer or on the carts. This information would have been useful when booking the round. All the money is put back into maintaining the course-which I must say, is AWESOME. I believe it has the highest slope/rating in the area and it definitely lives up to that billing. The greens were wet from rain the night before but were still rolling well over 10 on the stimp. The elevation changes were spectacular and the greens were undulating and slick. With no amenities, you simply left with a great track. I'd rather have a superbly kept course with no beer or clubhouse than a nice clubhouse with alcohol on a crappy track.
