5805 Eiterman Rd Dublin, OH 43013 www.golfclubofdublin.net 614-792-3825 This "Award Winning" public golf facility is designed with the spirit of golf from the British Isles and will leave you thinking that you have just played Turnberry or Carnoustie. As you play the Golf Club of Dublin you will notice the rectangular tee boxes, eighteen hundred feet of hand stacked stone walls from the Irish countryside, over seventy hand stacked sod wall bunkers positioned precariously throughout the course, seventeen holes with water, and fairways so wide even the most novice golfers will find. The details continue with the six foot flag sticks, nineteenth century bag stands from the eighteen hundreds on every tee, and many more authentic touches of British Golf. Course Details
Average Hole Difficulty
If you're looking for a private type club atmosphere and a low scoring (read that as not challenging) then this place is for you. They treat you right here (you pay for it), but the golf course I would say, is far from a Links style experience. Yea, they have the sod bunkers and stone walls, but the course simply plays like a wide open American course. I've played there a dozen times in the past (outings & my friend worked there) and the fairways and greens were far too receptive. Your ball will not run out on the fairways into trouble like on scottish courses. Your ball will hold the large greens fairly easily. Most of the bunkers, save for a few holes, simply don't come into play. There is very little risk in playing this course extremely aggressively. Just pull out your driver and wail away with little concern for hazards or bunkers. The golf course itself I give 2 stars (too much money for the course). The amenities outside of the golf I give 4 stars (not real important to me). Played the GCD for the first time this past weekend. I never played it during the summer time, frankly b/c $70-$80 is too much to pay for a public course in central Ohio. We got to the course, had to check in and pay at a starter shed at the bag drop, club house was being renovated, or that's what seemed to be going on. Ranger was very nice. Teed off into 20+ MPH winds making the short first hole just a little bit long. I enjoyed the layout, typical links course. However, it didn't seem as if they have begun taking care of the course this season. The greens were SHAGGY, rough was bare in many spots, the pot bunks were in terrible shape, and for what rain Columbus received two to three days earlier, there was still indications of standing water throughout. Overall, I'm glad I was able to play the course, was hoping for better, but got less than what I expected for a $50 plus greens fee course. Your Review
