45120 Waxpool Rd Dulles, VA 20166-6923 www.1757golfclub.com 703.444.0901 This course opened in 2009 with nine holes designed by architect David Heatwole, who was working for Nicklaus Design at the time. Originally intended to be a private country club, 1757 has changed ownership a few times, but is now operated by Billy Casper's golf management firm. The entire 18-hole layout is now open for public play and features bent grass tee-to-green. The original ten holes now comprises most of the first nine, while the entire course features water and/or wetlands on all but a few holes. The rack rates for non-members are $69 on Mondays through Thursdays, then $99 on Fridays, weekends, and holidays. Senior, early-bird, and sliding twilight discounts are available, as are "Player's Club" discount cards. Course Details
Average Hole Difficulty
This course is absolutely spectacular, you won't find a better all around value and experience anywhere in the area. The course demands accuracy, as water & woods line nearly every hole... The course condition, staff, practice & clubhouse facilities are all A++. Finishing hole is par 3 over water to a tight green, LOVE this course!!! Fantastic course, great layout. We played it after it rained for almost two weeks and were expecting a very soggy course, but we found the greens to be fast and the fairways to be firm for most parts. Customer service there was outstanding, just the pace of play was a little slow. Due to the rain all holes were cart path only and with the course layout where the cart path is left on most holes and we amateurs tend to hit right, there was a lot of walking going on. This course is challenging, but not too challenging. The scenery is nice and it has an interesting layout. Some of the greens weren't very well kept. I didn't really like how the fairways were so spongy that the ball wouldn't release off the tee. Overall, I enjoyed the course and will be playing there again. Great course, awesome practice facility, only greens need better maintenance since people won't repair their own divots!! $39 for 18 and a cart after 4pm 7 days a week. I went out there for the first time yesterday and what a nice setup. The clubhouse, range, and course are all very nice. Top notch equipment and service. The course itself is quite challenging for a novice golfer like myself. I believe only 2 or 3 holes don't have water involved and some evil genius placed bunkers in all the spots where my shots like to land. Good variety of holes that force you to attack each hole differently. Good maintenance and friendly staff from my experiences. Biggest complaint is that the plot of land is too small - the holes feel mostly well enough separated, but a lot of crossing cart paths so you always have to be mindful of people on other greens or tees. Very accessible which worries me that pace of play will get slower as word spreads about this still new course. Your Review
