Very nice course, but way too slow for having 10min gaps between groups. They need a ranger out there to speed up play. Lots of blind shots, esp if you haven't played it before, so everyone must spend time looking for lost balls. Beatiful course, with nice views. The day we played there were 3 of us and they gave us a 4th, who was as slow as molasses in January. We can go 4 hours but this guy would take 4 practice swings, step up to the ball, take 2 more and curse at the outcome. 4:45, enough said. The club personnel were very friendly. Visually breathtaking golf course in more ways than one- not long by modern standards even from the black tees, the toughest part of this course (so long as you can hit it straight) is IMHO the greens, especially when they tuck the pins, as most seemed to be the day we played. The course is well-conditioned on a par to most fully private clubs, though the laziness of golfers in this state regarding fixing ball marks is still an enigma to me- I must have fixed 5 or 6 fresh marks on every single green. Only negative was the pace of play, and the rangers (unlike the sister course, Wild Turkey) do not enforce pace, at least not for later tee times. Bring your camera if you come here, unlike other courses where the scenery surrounds the course, at Crystal the course is scenery in and of itself. Bring extra balls!!! The course is hard to play if you do not hit it straight. You have to hit 2 tee shots on the 11th hole, more so when the pin is in the back (Great hole). The scenery is awesome as is the scenery on its sister course Wild Turkey. A must play Your Review
