The new owner (pro shop guy) was behind the counter and was really nice. The course has a very unique layout with 5 par 3's and very a tight course. Nice scenery as well. I was told this was once a great course and you could see it is a chunk of coal that will be a diamond again someday. Almost every tee box was in bad shape(sand and crabgrass). The fairways were decent but the roughs needed cutting (although recent rains we've had make that hard to do). The greens were ok in spots but diseased in others with ruts in them from machinery. I am willing to give the new owner the benefit of the doubt, since he just took over the course. I'll play it again but it will take time and money to get it back to what it was. I hope he can make it happen. I'm not a stickler for pristine conditions, but this place is in horrendous shape -- it's like it's been abandoned. I've never seen anything like it. Oh wait, yes I have: an ABANDONED GOLF COURSE. Worst conditions I've seen in 30 years of golf. One star for layout. As of this date, course is chewed up. Fairways have bare/weed spots. Shame because course is a nice challenge. Your Review
