Springfield Country Club

Springfield Country Club located in Delaware County, just outside the Philadelphia area and only 10 minutes from PHL International Airport. In the 1980s, Springfield Township began a project to rebuild all all 18 greens, a task completed in the spring of 2000.

The people that work at this course are grumpy and mean. They have zero customer service skills, which is surprising because it is over-priced. There is always a million people there, and the greens have a poor design. Multiple holes the ball will go past the hole and stop, and then roll backwards back past the hole and off the green.

Overall, a very nice public course for the price. Can be crowded during peak times however. Afternoon price drops considerably beginning at 12pm. Nice staff, new carts and a few holes are quite challenging!

Pitching area: Yes (a short cart ride away from the 1st however)
Putting area: Yes, near 1st tee

If you enjoy being surrounded by denim, uneducated golfers who don't respect the rules of golf then this is the place to go. I could understand if it were just one group of golfers, but today the course was packed with them. I could have held an open conversation with the group behind us because they were using their "big boy" voices.
This place calls it self a "Country Club" and looks down on everyone who walks into the club house. Even the rangers come across as if "you" don't deserve to play their course. Yet they'll take your money none the less. Guess what Springfield? You're not Aronimink when you let as much trash players on the course. Stop acting like it.
Never Playing There Again. Would rather play Cobbs Creek. At least they don't try to be better than what they really are.

Firm fairways, deep rough, lightning fast greens, scenery, this place has it all. Beautiful clubhouse, good pace of play (for a holiday), great value. I will come again, but beware of the grumpy ranger...
