Shepherd's Crook Golf Course

Owned and operated by the Zion Park District, Shepherd's Crook opened in 1999 with a design by Keith Foster that is meant to echo some Scottish and Irish links-style courses. The layout features bent grass tee-to-green.

The non-resident walking rate is $45; carts are $30. Weekday discounts are available for juniors, seniors, early-bird, and twilight play, while local residents with ID enjoy discounted rates as well.

Great course, and a great value, especially if you walk. Very well maintained. Great greens. Plays pretty long on some holes from the back tees, especially the 245 par 3 (which was into the wind when I played) and 617 par 5. Overall, I rate it in the top 10 in IL that I have played.

Beautiful course, well maintained. Tee boxes are a little worn, but they are better than most. Beautifully maintained and reasonable. Only downside is there is no driving range.
