Palmira Golf Club

Located in Northwest Indiana, convenient to Chicago and the South Suburbs, Palmira has undergone extensive reconstruction in the last 10 years and is now regarded as one of the premier public courses in the area.

Begun in an effort to correct the course drainage problems and to overcome its reputation as a lackluster public course, the ongoing project has now spanned a decade and is earning Palmira the well deserved reputation as a favorite course of many golfers in Indiana and Illinois.

I enjoy playing here 5-8 times a year. Today we were behind an inconsiderate 4some who took 4hs & 40 min to play. They were at least 1 hole behind after 2. Finally let the 2some ahead of us play through at 10, but never let us through. Complained to the 3 women in the clubhouse and 1 seemed to understand. She gave us a raincheck, but that alone does not solve the problem. The problem is they have NO RANGER. I love the course and play there more than anywhere else, but 4hrs should be the max at this course. They played so slow, that a 5some behind us with 4 carts and playing the back tees were waiting for us. I don't know if I'll be back even with a freebie. I've heard that the owners don't really care, but refuse to believe that since the course is always in good shape and a great value.
