16302 Conda Way Rawlings, MD 21557 www.ForeSistersGolf.com 301.729.4000 Construction began on this course during the mid-1990s, but did not open until new ownership took over late in 1997 and finally opened the course in 2000. Of note is the par-3 7th hole, which features two groups of tees, one of which reports a tee-shot over water. That is followed by the very tight par-5 8th, named "Marion's Maze." The 14th is another dual-tee hole; from the back set it is a par-6 that stretches from 650 to 714 yards. Course Details
Average Hole Difficulty
A decent course but a little over priced for what you get. Greens are usually pretty good and are pretty quick. I would rate it higher if it weren't for two holes, numbers 3, and 8. Both are par 5's and the lay out of both holes are terrible as both have terrible drainage issues where you can hit a straight fairway shot and lose your ball because it plugs in the swamp like fairway. Pros: Very nice clubhouse, good scenery through the mountainside with viewing of wildlife (squirrels, deer, turkey) Greens usually in good condition with firm fast greens. Cons: Conditions of fairways inconsistent, during summer it drys out and become very hard, during the spring or during wet periods many holes do not drain well leaving them very swampy in spots. Bunkers are inconsistent with many rocks and dirt mixed in. The par 5's on this course with the exception on #16 really bring the course down as a whole. Many times you are not rewarded for a good shot. Fore Sisters as a whole is an average mountain golf course with nice greens and nice scenery and with not many other options in the area for a public 18 hole course Fore Sisters is the only game in town, thus not being pushed to improve the quality of its course. This is quite possibly the worst designed course I have ever played. Holes are gimmicky to the point that it feels as though you are playing an oversized putt-putt course without the windmill. The only positives are that the greens roll true and the clubhouse is very appealing with a wrap around porch/deck that overlooks none of the course?? Staff is not overly friendly and management has driven away most of the membership with empty promises (private carts, etc.) and poor overall management of the course. Which bodes well for pace of play!!! Your Review
