Fairways, rough, and tees are in great condition right now. Greens are almost unplayable in some areas, dead grass, no grass, and bumpy finish in many areas. All the greens need some TLC, there are ball marks unfixed (days/weeks old), and some dirt patches. Everything else was in great shape, not sure whats going on with the greens. Scenery was amazing, great setting. Hospitality was great, range balls come free with the round, and starters/rangers were really helpful. This course is in wonderful condition. Even with the lack of rain we have had this season, the maintenance staff has done a very good job keeping the turf areas healthy and in the course in immaculate shape. There were a couple of low areas that were a bit wet from recent watering, but nothing that hinders the playability of this course. I will warn you, however, you must bring your A game here, particularly if want to play from the back. For higher handicappers, the forward tees make this course playable and enjoyable. There are a few semi-blind shots, but the majority of the course is right in front of you. Careful shot selection and course management are at a premium here, as there are lots of trouble areas to avoid. Greens are multi-tiered and undulating, but all of them rolled very true and at a speed that is reasonable for all levels of players. All in all, this is a wonderfully designed course that is kept in near-perfect condition. We played on a Friday morning for $50.00 (with the TeeTimeGolfPass), which is certainly a great deal. Even the $75.00 regular rate is a pretty fair value considering the other options in the region. I have been waiting to play this course since it opened but have always found it to pricey when I lived in the area. However I was able to get out in May and I was not impressed. Maybe it was just a bad week for the course but every green looked burnt and the fairways were like hitting off of cement. Now whether this was due to weather or a lack of maintenance who knows but for a course in this price range I would expect a significantly better maintenance. (From what I was told management/ownership has changed several times) Outside of the course conditions the layout is very nice with only a few poor choices along the way. Most notably was 15 I believe where there is a gigiantic hill in the middle of the green. Can someone say GIMMICK!!! If I had the choice again I would probably just skip golf that weekend and go play Bulle Rock for the $150 instead. I quite enjoyed this course. It was in fabulous shape, greens were smooth, but not too fast. Hole layouts are challenging but fair, and most are quite nice-looking. Tough to play for the first time--there are a couple of blind shots and you gotta know where you can miss it, as there's definitely a lot of trouble out there. I was given a gift certificate to play here...not sure I'd ever play at the regular rates though. Not quite worth the full rates. Staff is very nice though. Mountian Branch is in GREAT SHAPE!! We played twilight on 10-11-07 and had the whole course to ourself. Fairways, Greens and tee boxes were in Excellent shape. One could tell a lot of work went in to getting this course through the rough summer we've had. Pro shop staff are very friendly. We played twilight and were only able to get in 16 holes. Our cart died coming back to the clubhouse. We will go back. Check out Mountian Branch, You'll like it. They have a great blackend tuna sandwich at the bar. Your Review
