Chula Vista Golf Course

Chula Vista was designed by Dick Wilson and three-time major champion Billy Casper, and stretches to 6,759 yards. Three lakes and the Sweetwater River come into play on fifteen holes. The course is operated by American Golf.

One of the worst courses in San Diego area. It's cheap and you truly get what you pay for. The pace is extremely slow, on Friday afternoon half of the players were walking and half of the riders were drunk with unlimited beer. This is the first and the only course where I saw a SEVEN-some play! Greens were OK, kind of boring, just straight up and down, no challenges. Proshop guys very friendly and make up for the defficiency of the course. Not worth playing here again.

The greens need SERIOUS work, but you can tell someone is trying to do something positive, though their methods are questionable. Fairways are ok and sand is above par and consistent throughout the course (I should know, I found 9 traps yesterday!). Pace of play was ok for 0645 Sunday tee time. We didn't burn up the course but we weren't waiting on the group in front of us after the first tee. All in all, not a bad public course for the price.

VERY SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you go at 3 then your jacked cause it takes 4 hours to play 9 holes...The best time to go is like at 6am and you would be out at 9:30am seriously
