I play this course regularly as a resident and saw agilic and remen 's reviews and while they were right about the course this past summer, normally this is a very nice muni track. It was decimated in August but has made a decent come back. They had to reseed most of the white/blue course. Most players overall normally prefer the white/blue track so it tends to get a little more traffic, and perhaps was the difference that killed it this year. Red overall is a bit boring but still has some nice holes and seemed to be the least affected by the weather this year. And Gold is definitely the nicest of all the nines, most interesting and most scenic. Don't back away from playing Flanders because of the last 2 reviews and I recommend to them to go back and try it again next May or June to see how nice this very solid public track can be...and it is a bargain. Remen is right. This place was just awful. Played there for the first time and it was the worst shape I have ever seen a golf course in my entire life. It was a shame because it seemed like the course had a pretty decent layout but it virtually unplayable. No warning and no discounted rate means I will never be giving this place another dollar of business, and highly recommend you avoid going here. I would avoid this course for the rest of the summer. The heat waves and lack of rain have decimated this course. I played the white/blue today and the first nine fairways had no grass at all! The back nine was slightly better with the fairways being half grass and half dirt. The rough is also very spotty and the greens were beat up. I was not warned about this before paying and paid full rate for this garbage. Avoid playing here if you like being able to hit out of grass!! One of the better public courses. Greens are consistant and the course is well maintained. Flanders Valley (either course) is a great value, especially at the morris co. resident rate. A good course for medium to lower handicappers. Condsidering the amount of play, they do an excellent job keeping up the conditions overall. They do a staggered start on weekend mornings which helps pace, but would like to see the rangers push slower players a bit more, not based on the calculated time a round should take, but on pace of play ahead of them. This course gets a lot of play, and even with 36 holes, it gets quite busy. Flat rate is a great bargain, if you can manage to get out. I played a round on the White/Blue on 05/28/08 and the course was in pretty good shape, though the greens need to be cut, they were running very slow. Usually the greens at this course are in great condition for a popular muni. If you can get on the Gold course, it's a tough walk, but more scenic than the other 3. Though, White/Blue has some nice areas. One of the best public courses I've ever played. Grounds are kept very well, course is challanging but fun. Your Review
