I have started playing Slazengers and I LOVE them! You can buy 36 balls from Dick's for $35. They have a soft feel around the green and have a lower compression for me since I'm just a girl...

I've thought many times about getting Slaz balls because they're so cheap. Good to see a positive review on them.

Steve I really like them and I'm a ball snob. I always played Titleist Pro V or So Lo's but I honestly like the Slazzy's. I originally bought them for my 10 year old but stole some when I didn't have any balls and have continued to play them.

One of the minor victories I've accomplished this year is the fact that I'm noticably losing a lot fewer balls. I play Callaway Warbirds because they are cheap and because they don't have a lot of spin (I don't like spin...yet), but I bought a box of 100 used ones at the beginning of the year...and I still haven't lost them all. I think I went through 250 balls last year, so I think this means that I might be ready to upgrade.
Problem is, as I stated, I'm not ready to play a ball with a lot of spin yet.

Me, I play Srixon Z-URS. Lakeballs, because even though new ones are maybe 1/3 of the price of Pro V1's, there's so little difference between AAA quality lakeballs and new ones I wouldn't know why I'ld pay full price

I usually use the red or green callaways (hot and hot bite). I picked up a box of top flight gamers v2 at wally world this weekend, will try them on the course on wednesday.
I have several boxes of the Nitro Blasters that I pull out when I lose too many expensive balls ina round they are $5 for 15 balls at my wal-mart. I almost have a trunk full of those

love the Gamer V2s I had to force myself to play with other balls last time I went out because I just have to many older balls laying around. Need to buy more gamers though.

Nike Power Distance Soft balls are relatively cheap over here and noticably better than the Dunlops and Top Flites that I used to use before.
Others report a loss of driving distance with them but last Sunday I had no distance loss with my 3 wood.
I also like the feel on the green of these balls.

To all the "Noodle" players. I saw the Noodle on sale @ Target yesterday, 2 for $25.

Just picked up two 15-ball boxes of 2010 Maxfli Revolution balls at Golf Galaxy for $20 -- great deal. I had been using Precept Laddie X balls and occasionally Noodle balls if I found them on sale. I think the Revolution EXT Soft version is comparable to both of them.
Funny, but only somewhat related story - Last fall I picked up a double dozen box of Laddie X balls at Walmart ($11 on clearance!!!) and I was finishing them off back in early July. While on the golf course, I opened one of the sleeves, and it contained three Precept EC Fuel balls ... not the Laddie X I was expecting. There must have been some kind of manufacturing mistake. For the record, I hated the EC Fuels.

Well, tried the V2 Gamers Wednesday. Ugg, felt like I was launching a rock. I think the cheaper nitro blasters have a better feel off the club then these Gamers. Just no feel at all like I am used too.
I gave them a chance for a full 18, but went back to Callaway HX Hot Bites on Friday, could tell a difference immediately.

Until last week I've been playing the orange Wilson Smart Core balls and really liked them. Cheap, $15 for 18 balls and fairly straight with decent feel around the greens. Last week I bought a dozen Pro V1 X-Outs from Golf Galaxy for $29. I've been working my short game more and was looking for more spin around the greens. These do the job very well. I'll probably stick to the X-Outs over the full price ones though. My local course tourney allows the use of the X-Outs and I have no plans yet to play at a higher level that might not allow them
