Feelin' kinda weird.
Got some new clubs.
Even though the old ones were crappy old cheapo Wilsons i got on eBay about a year ago to learn with, I kinda feel like I'm breaking up with an old girlfriend or something like that.

I couldn't even bring them together into the same room.

Anyone else get that sorta thing?
I think I'm losin' it. O_o

I understand. I had a driver that I hit all throughout high school and college. It was a cheaper Dunlop one, but I hit it great; when I first started it was one of the few strengths of my game. I cracked the face of the original, but was able to find the same model to replace it and luckily it still performed.

About 2 years ago, I upgraded all of my equipment, including a new driver. Sadly, I don't hit it as well as I'd like. Occasionally I'll grab the old one and take it to the range to try to find that old groove with it, but it never materializes.

It now just sits in my spare bag, staring me in the face everytime I walk by it, wondering how I could dump it for a newer, sexier model. Crying or Very sad

I might, if I one day decide to get a new driver. I love my R5, and I once stated that if someone wanted it they would have to pry it from my cold, dead hands, but who knows...

Heck no.

After using walmart clubs for about 4 years, I finally bought a set of Callaway irons.

I lovingly removed the cellophane from the new clubs and placed them in my bag while making the old clubs watch, then I called the old clubs a bitch and tossed them in the back junk room. Smile

When I got my new putter last summer, and I had to break up with my old putter of over 20 years, I had to physically get rid of the old putter to stop hearing it call my name.

Totally get it. It's weird, but there are many crazies out there, just like us, who get very attached to their clubs. Even if they are nothing special clubs. Hell, I've got a set of 4-year-old Titleist 755 irons now that I bought USED just 6 months ago that I love so much I can't imagine I will ever leave them. I know I will though. I always do. It's sad, but golf-life must go on.
