I wonder about some of the cats I get started with, or who invite me to combine, when they tee off. Seems they're expecting me to track their trajectory. Many turn and say.. "SO?".
"Dude, I was scratchin' my balls... lost it in the sun."
I appreciate someone lends a hand directing me sometimes, "Dude, go out to that road, cross it, ask the farmer if he saw anything unusual and get back to us on the green" kinda stuff.
Is there a widely accepted etiquette thing says I should be laying the cut straight on my co-players as courtesy?

I was playing with this old guy and asked him if he saw my ball. He says "yeah I got it". So we get down the fairway and I say "where is it" He says"I forgot".

Kurt, you're first 2 paragraphs are hilarious!!

I don't know if there's an etiquette thing involved, but personally, I always try and see the flight and landing of my partners shots. Maybe because I like playing at a reasonable speed and that way they won't hold us up if at least one of us saw where it went.

I still like you're excuses though.

I'm in the habit of asking my playing partners to help me spot my balls. I have terrible vision, and I honestly can't figure out how I almost always manage to find my shots when I'm playing by myself.

That said, if I'm ready, I will help my partners watch their shots automaticall. But I have to be ready, first. Drives me crazy when I'm still replacing the pin on the previous hole and my partner is already teeing off....and expecting me to spot his ball. Hey...I still have to write my score down.
