I know this may be a dumb question... but is there any rhyme or reason as to what clubs you put in what slots in your bag?
I generally put my woods at the top (when using the bag stands), and my PW and putter in the bottom hole since I usually grab both of those at the same time, and then the rest just kind of get stuck wherever.
Also, does anyone here use those plastic tubes you can stick in your bag to keep your clubs separate? They seem like a good idea... just looking for everyone else's thoughts...
Finally, does anyone here use those neoprene head covers for your irons? I can see them being a good idea when travelling and checking your clubs in a travel bag on flights, maybe. But any other time?
Sorry, more noob questions. They aren't the first, and they probably won't be the last

My driver is at the bottom. My woods finish running up the middle. Then I circle them with irons, in order. Wedges are in descending order down the other side and the putter is in the outside slot.
I keep covers on my woods and used to use the neoprene covers because riding in the cart, the clubs tend to bang around a bit. I don't use them now because I usually drive. I keep them for travel, though.

I used have a standard bag with the standard six segments (lower, middle & upper tier with a divider in the middle). Short clubs including putter went into the lower tier, mid & longer irons in the mid tier and woods in the upper tier.
Then I used a caddie for the first time and by the end of the round he had rearranged all my clubs. Basically the most used clubs were on the side of the bag closest to my right hand when I set the bag down.
I used this setup until I got an Ogio bag with the Woodie top. Same sort of principal. Shorter clubs close to your right hand, longer clubs further away.

Sort of late to the "party" here, but I keep the woods in the top two slots, my 3 and 4-iron in the left middle, the 5 and 6-iron in the centre middle, and the 7 and 8-iron in the right middle. The bottom is one wide opening and I keep the 9, PW, SW and putter there. I keep the longer clubs on top, in hopes that the heads don't bang the heads of the shorter clubs too much, although I'm sure it still happens! I mostly walk when I play (and much prefer to walk, unless it's a mountain goat course). I also used the neoprene iron covers to reduce noise, but after losing one the first time I played, they now are stored nicely in a pocket in my bag.

I keep thinking, "yep...I'm going to keep my clubs arranged this time" only to find that the next time I need a wedge, it's neatly hidden underneath everything else. I can't even seem to get Ogio's woodie system down.

I use a 14-way divider bag with a putter well. When the bag is in the cart, the clubs start with woods at top left and descending through irons to wedges bottom right. This system works well for me except I have 15 slots (including putter well) but am only allowed 14 clubs on the course. What am I to do?
I like this system because I can see at a glance if I have left any clubs on the course before I move on.
I also use the neoprene covers to protect clubs and to identify them more rapidly.

Don't you have a ball retriever? Perfect for that 15th slot!

This is what my new one looks like:
Putter at the top.
Down the left: driver, 3, 4/5 Hy
On the Right, top->bottom: 8+9,6+7,PW+LW
Leaves me with a space on the left for a ball retriever.
Nice system, better than my old bag for sure.

I tend to take my golf cart off-roading while chasing my golfball so I keep the clatter down with the neoprene headcovers. I use the plastic bag tubes to eliminate the battle to pull a club out or shove one back in. I have the Ogio Edge and use the tubes on my irons and wedges which has three open sections that fit three club tube each nicely.

yea the ogio bags have a really nice system. I have my putter at the toptoo. I put my 3w, dr, hy down the wood slots, more because of the size of the headcovers than anything. wedges in the bottom hole, 7-Pw in the middle and 4-6 in the top big hole.

My Ogio Kingpin bag is quite similar, but it only has three wood slots on the left.
I keep my umbrella and ball retriever in the top slot. The next slot down holds my two specialty clubs. It's my putter and my high bounce 55* sand wedge. The next slot down from that holds my wedges, and the last slot on the bottom holds all of my numbered irons.
Down the left hand side I have my driver, then my 4h, and then a utility club (which is actually a spare club for me at the moment).
