One of the courses I play at just added a new set of tees, to make the course have five set of tee boxes. The old set up was teal as the ladies tees, then white, orange, and the purple being the back tees. The new set up made black tees as the back tees, with the teal basically staying the same, but everything moved up from where they were. They have re-rated the slope and ratings to reflect the new set up. The other two courses at the site are about to make the same change, also.

My question is, when these changes are made, how will this affect past scores entered in regards to handicapping? Say I played a round on the orange tees under the old set up, but the new set up means that it looks like I played the orange on an easier set up than I did.

The way to do this is to create a new tee, name it"New Orange"and then list the yardages, pars etc..

Good question. I see that someone has screwed up the scorecard for Kissimmee Golf Club. I hesitated about correcting it for fear of upsetting previously entered scores.

If you change a tee the new yardage and stroke indexes will show with old scores. If you change the slope/rating of a tee it will not change the slope and rating for any old scores and thus will not effect handicaps. If par ever changes on a tee then a whole new scorecard should be created, we treat changing of par as a course renovation.

when my home course: Deer Creek was edited, it messed up my past scores.
Lesson learned is to get the fix done PRIOR to entering any scores, and if a change is made, you may want to make a NEW course first.
