I play alone. One of very few to walk 18 at the club I play. I am in no hurry during my round. I never look behind me until I hole out. I don't blast my music. I listen to the blues. I will shut it off at the tee box if others are teeing off. I feel more relaxed playing this way. Anyone else do this? I let fellow golfers play through at end of a hole. I write my score and clean my clubs as I use them. I read every putt, approach, and drive. I also use a range finder, repair my ball marks and the threesome in front of me. Repair divots, rake bunkers and toss broken tees in garbage. If I'm waiting to tee off I will dispose of left over tees at the tee box I use.
I've started to notice garbage left around the beautiful course. Last week I pitched up from 76 yards to roll back to the pin only to have my ball change direction from the ballpark someone had failed to repair. Another time I chipped up to the pin, and diverted the ball from a pistachio shell. I walk it in 4-5 hours and respect the course and others play.
I wish others would do the same. 80 has been difficult to break. Been close yet so far away. Golf is one of most mental intense games to play. Please respect all parts of this wonderful challenge. [/b]
