Sadly, it may be time to retire my R5-Dual.

I discovered a crack in the bottom of the club during my last round. I'm heading over to "Play It Again Sports" during lunch to see what they've got.

Went and demo'd a couple possible replacements. I can't afford brand new, but I might be able to swing a "last year new."

Tried out the R9 Super Tri (8.5*) and Super Deep (10.5*). I was surprised at the results. I had a much smaller dispersion with the Super Tri. I wasn't sure I was even going to be able to hit it, never mind hit it well.

I'm not sure the $299 price tag is doable, though.

You demo'ed clubs at Play It Again? I didn't know you could do that. Looks like I'll be heading there a little more often.

The one close to me has a driving range down the street that they will let you take a couple clubs to (ususally limit of 3). I don't know if they all allow that or not.

I demo'd the R9's at Whirlaway in Methuen, MA- a golf shop/driving range.

yea there was a great little golf shop that allowed you to demo clubs around here because the range was so close. it's funny because for whatever reason (unrelated to demos) they went out of business but the one down the street which doesn't even let you swing the club before you buy it stayed in business. (i'll also mention that the one that stayed in business was about 30% more expensive for everything.)
