I'm so psyched about the deal I just got. The other day I saw my local Golf Galaxy had Nike SQ Machspeed drivers (the 2010 model) on clearance for $100. I didn't buy it, but was kicking myself for two days about it. I called yesterday and they still had one left, so I had them put it on hold for me.

When I got there today, I took a couple of swings at it, and liked it as much as the first time I tried it, so I decided to pull the trigger. Then, I noticed signs that said all clearance items were 25% off. That took the price down to $75!

Then, I took my old Nike Sumo2 5900 over to the counter and asked how much I could get for a trade-in. The club is in great shape except for normal wear and a small dent on the heel. I bought it used last summer for $75. The guy said he'd give me $30 for it, and I nearly yelled "SOLD!"

So ... after the trade-in and the discounts, I got a brand new unused (granted, last year's model) driver for $45!

Based on my swings in the simulator at GG, it looks like the Machspeed will increase my distance AND accuracy. If that bears out in real life it will be a huge win-win for me. I'm playing a round Sunday morning with it and can't wait!

That's what I saw in the simulator. We'll see what happens in real life.

Great bargain. I scored a used Cobra Baffler Hybrid 26* for $25, sort of on Ebay. A golf shop in Cali put it up for auction, so I messaged them to see if they'd do a "buy it now" deal. Message back said $25 plus shipping, so for $36 it's on it's way.

I was getting frustrated seeing them go for well over $40 plus shipping at auction, when you can buy them outright for $44.

Ebay isn't what it used to be for bargains.

Here's the funny part that I left out of my story: The Golf Galaxy had two used Machspeed drivers in the store. They were each priced at $137. Clearly they didn't want to sell them.

That's just stupid! They probably gave too much for a trade-in value. I'd certainly buy a new one vs 2nd hand if it was cheaper.
