I picked up a dozen of these on sale some time back, and finally got around to playing them today. I'd heard a lot of good things about the D2 Feels and had been meaning to try them, and I figured these would be even better. I started my round with a Callaway HX Tour ball. I had one left and really like them. Once that ball was donated to the golf gods, I switched to the Gamers. Now, I'm not the best evaluator of golf equipment, but I could immediately tell a HUGE difference between the two balls. The Gamers felt to me exactly like you would expect a Top Flite to feel - like a rock. Not happy to be stuck with a dozen of them. I'll try them again at some point. I hate to have a box of balls I don't want to play.

Anyone else play these? is my evaluation wrong?

Not good to hear. I have a few I've found but never played, I'll take them with me next time I go chip around and see how they compare to the Callaways I've been using. Although you're probably right and they are like rocks, good beginner ball I suppose.

I'd love to hear a second opinion. I'm going to try them again at some point when I play a practice round. I will say, though, that they're not priced like beginner balls. A dozen Gamers is around $20 I think. I got them on sale for $13/dozen.

I tried a ball experiment the other day.

I tried the following balls on the green, to the green and off the tee.

Titleist ProV1
Bridgestone B330S
Taylormade Burner Tour
Nike MOJO
Slazenger RAW DISTANCE Feel
Slazenger RAW DISTANCE Straight

I ranked them from Highest priced to lowest there... but that is nothing like what I felt playing them.

To be honest, there are loads of decent balls out there. I didn't like the Bridgestone, the Burner was ok, ProV1 wasn't worth the price.
The mojo and the feel felt so good... the straight was decent.

I think my point is, its hard to FEEL the difference, especially if you are new, like me. Hit a few, but if you dont think you like it, use something else. You want to feel good about your ball, I have used a lot, not too many that I dont like, but try them out.

I like soft, dont worry about distance, it should take care of itself. I took a chance with the Slazengers 3 for 35 at dicks, and they are sweet, 16 per pack too. Mojos 2 dozen for 20 bucks, but i got 4 dozen for 30... and I love them.

You want something that feels good off the club. Confidence breeds results that make you confident.
And have fun Smile

Me again.

I think 20 bucks and below would be beginner balls.
25-35 is the midrange stuff
35 + is the high end stuff.

20 bucks is usually 2 piece.
25-35 is usually different cover, or 3 piece maybe
35+ is 4+ layers usually, or some funky cool technology.

At your level right now, spin might be tougher to control. Worry about straight and consistent first.
2 piece balls that are soft, without too much spin should be good I believe.
Although our games could be worlds apart.

Based on the balls you say you like, I'd guess they aren't that far apart. I'm rediscovering my love for Noodle balls right now. I got s dozen Soft and Longs for my bday and played them yesterday. They really are great balls, and the price isn't bad either. What I love is that they are quite durable. I didn't lose a ball on the back nine, and there isn't one scuff on the ball i was using. You can't say that for many softer balls.

When i was doing my ball research and experimenting, the pro at dicks said he has played those noodles for a long time, and has tried others, but he can't tell the difference, and uses noodles for price and feel.

I was going to recommend them, but its a personal thing.
As long as your happy, its a good place to be.
I think once you and I get into the 70s then ball could help climb a little higher, but we have bigger things to worry about at our current levels.

Since I adopted the Bridgestone e6, i'm seeing less slice action. Thats what they're designed for. Less spin n stuff.

Could be my swing is getting better....naah, couldn't be that.

My brother tried the e6

It reduces some spin for sure... but you still have to hit it. Because even that magic ball couldn't save its life, he lost 2 in one round lol.

Its a nice soft ball too... great off the putter.
