ok today i played golf today in a 3 some and had a 1pm tee time. i got to the 1st tee a couple minutes before 1 but i was asked to wait by the starter. at about 1 the group that was supposed to be ahead of us(they had about a 12:50 tee time)arrived at the 1st tee. they were also a 3 some. the starter told the other 3 some to go ahead first because they were supposed to be ahead of us originally, but i disagreed. i think that if you`re late, you lose your place. they couldn`t keep pace with the group in front of them and wouldn`t let us play through, so the starter was wrong about letting them go first.

I'd agree Player. Sounds like you got shafted.

At most of the courses I play, the starter will let you tee off late while trying to keep the same order. I know it sucks. I'm never late for a tee time (or at least I never have been).

But the other thing is....if a group of kids is waiting to tee off alongside a group of adults, the starter will almost always let the adults go out first. It sucks because a lot of kids are just as good (or better) than the adults. Now I know that you are 27 and all, Player, but if you look very young for your age (which is something I suspect), this might be what happend.

Or maybe it was a combination of the two.

I get grief from older guys now and then, especially for playing a yellow ball. The funny thing is, my handicap is dropping, and when I tee off, they feel pretty small (luckily they dont see my short game).

Funny how we still read the books by their cover, even with that 12 yr old girl qualifying for the US Open, she'd probably get grief at the course even though she could whip up on most of them.

Rule 6-3: Idf you miss your tee time, you are disqualified unless if the 5 minute rule is in use and if you arrive within 5 minutes.. Even if the 5 minute rule was in use they still would have been disqualified since they were 10 minutes late.

You are citing a rule that applies to a tournament. The situation you described was casual weekend play and the course has the final say on the order of play. Get over it.
