Favorite Course - Kapalua Plantation. When the whales are in the harbor, the wide fairways and large greens create an incredibly peaceful and enjoyable round.

Best Golf Course - Pinehurst #2. Great layout, tough greens.

Pacific Grove....
2miles from Spyglass, Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, and it cost only 45.00 on weekends... it has the same views and drama as the others for 1/10 the cost.. the whole back nine has view of the pacific ocean and worth every cent,
this is the view from the 14th tee box.

I'd have to say the best course I've ever played is Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, AZ. They have 2 courses there (I've played them both) and they are always in perfect condition. Every time I'm in Phoenix I make a point to play there.

I must agree with Kevin's choice. Whirlwind looks spectacular, although I have yet to actually get to play it. Two other courses in this area would be Gold Canyon (Dinosaur course) and Poston Butte in Florence, AZ. Excellent courses with beautiful scenery and reasonably priced.

i've played all of these courses and Poston Butte is my home course In my opinion Whirlwind Cattail is the best course of all of them

So far, my favorite course is Campbell's Scottish Highlands in Salem, NH. It's a very well maintained public course.

I can't play as often as I'd like, and if you don't have a foursome, they will add to your group to make it a foursome.

The rangers are very friendly, but they will ask you to speed up if you're creating a backlog.

It's challenging for all skill levels, with some interesting risk/reward holes. The fairways and greens are well kept. Some of the greens are very tricky to read. Don't expect perfect lies. You're in New England and nothing is ever perfectly flat.

Grew up on Long Island, so , Bethpage Black is the classical Best course.

As far as memorable...... anyone who has a chance to play WOLF CREEK in Mesquite NV has got to do it. It is unbelieveable.

Tidewater in Myrtle is amazing also.

I played Tidewater back in 1997 during a week-long holiday. At the time, I really enjoyed it but haven't been back to the area. I have also forgotten most of the course, but I think I still have my scorecard (don't ask the score - probably 110ish!).

My most memorable to date might be Torrey Pines, right after the Buick in 2006.

Pebble Beach is #1 . The Links at Spanish Bay was phenominal . Pasatiempo may be the hardest course I ever played .
Looking forward to a trip to Myrtle Beach next week . I booked all 5 courses under the "Legends" umbrella . Can't wait .

Ballyowen Golf club in Hamburg NJ.

voted #1 public course in NJ. really is a spectacle of a course. its links style and the one time i played there there was a fog hovering over us the whole time. It was the coolest feeling i've had playing golf because it was like those pictures you see of links courses with fog rolling in... very eerie and cool. we tee'd off at 8 am and i could hardly see. the contrast between the fescue and the fairways is beautiful.

Arcadia Bluffs, about 45 min SW of Traverse City Mi. A links course set above a 150' bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Then, to top it off, in the summer at certain times, they have a bagpiper playing just above the 18th green. It just doesn't get any better than this. Check out their website and tour the course. It is a "must-play".

Bethpage Black for me. I'd love to do it again- but for me, as an out of stater without connections- all the stars lined up perfectly to get me on.

It was AWESOME to get beat up like that.

Pebble Beach, hands down - but only because someone else picked up the tab. At $495 it would be hard to enjoy any golf experience.

Pebble has the history, the fabulous views, the $$$$ houses. You can sit on the sofa every February and point to the TV and say, "I hit my shot there."

On top of all that it is a fun course to play. Every hole is different. The conditions are typically very good. If you play the correct tees and are hitting the ball well that day, you will score.
