You guys ever played this? I want to try it next few rounds out.

Idea is to have the lowest point score. Points are given for errors, and sometimes subtracted for good play. Something like:

-2 for birdie
-1 bounce back (par or better after double or worse)
-1 approach shot to inside flagstick
-1 putt made longer than flagstick
+1 three putt
+1 duffed shot (blade chip, top tee shot, fluffed chip etc)
+1 hit into bunker
+1 triple bogey
+2 hit into water
+3 hit OB / lost ball
+4 four putt

looks like fun, but will 2nd guzzining's statement, looks like a lot to keep track of.

Our groups current game is the "train game": must make two pars or a birdie to get on the train, then one point for bogey, two for par, three for birdie, five for eagle. Make two back to back bogey's or a double and your off the train. Get points for going off but not on. Make points worth whatever you want them to be worth. Seems to work well with our group playing handicaps, never too much won or lost and keeps things interesting. Also, you work to not go off the train, thus sometimes saving bogey when you might normally try and hit the all or nothing shot.

I was introduced to a game called bingo, bango, bongo a couple of weeks ago. You get a point for being the first one on the green. You get a point for being the closest to the pin once everyone is on. And you get a point for holing out first. You have to play the honors system for it to work, though. Was still too much for me to keep track of.

Bryan, bingo bango bongo, can be played in a diffrent way as well. furtherest tee shot in the fairway, first on the green, and first in the hole. I agree that honors must be played, and this can be a pain but somewhat of a fun game, and also agree that it can be a bit much to keep track of if there are other games involved.

That is a great game but it can lead to some slow play.

I play in a 9 hole league that is similar to that system. I can't remember the program but their is one that counts it all up, you just enter your score.
