Another disappointment, 84 this time. Includes two doubles and triple. Had to work hard and hole a bunch of 4, 5 footers just to cobble together this half-assed score. Shoddy, insipid ballstriking from the last round continued into this one. What the hells my problem. I am working way hard just trying to set up to the ball. Bend at the waist, knees pointed in, back straight, chin up, arms glued to the chest...GAAAAAAH!!!! I guess I know far less about the golf swing than I once thought. Screw it. Screw you stupid golf swing. I have bounced back from far worse.

Played Allentown Muni this weekend. Beautiful day for it. Slower than hell though. 6 and 1/2 hour round. Ughhh. Shot []76[] with a double on the last. Stupid move on my part. It was such a nice day out i didn't even care that the round was so long. My wife did, however.

Great putting, great game all around except for the last full swing. Oh well.

What I'd like to know is...how do you play a course in Allentown without humming the Billy Joel tune all round long....

Well I'm playing here in Allentown
There's a group ahead that's slowing us down
And the slow play makes it hard to score
Except for the birdie
Back on hole four....

Shot 83 Friday. Had 2 birdies and either rimmed or left on lip 6 putts that would have allowed me to shoot 79 or better..Stroke was working all day but...Maybe next time. Whats the old story " If a bull frog had wings, his fanny wouldn't bump the ground".

Well last friday I made the long journey to the Marine Park Golf Course out in far flung Brooklyn. So far out that its practically in Queens. Getting there is a tiresome, which is why I haven't been to this course in over two years. But in that timespan it has received a lot of TLC and is blossoming into a proper golf facility.

Walking up as a single I was put on a waitlist looking at about twenty minutes. The manager says "You wanna go hit a bucket? Here, go hit a bucket" and tosses me a token. Wha?? At a golf course in Brooklyn, I'm being treated like a valued customer? I'm being given free range balls?? There's a range??? I practically had to fight back the tears at this point. It was a small range for hitting irons only but it was a nice little session. Not even halfway into the bucket I got called back to the pro shop and within minutes I was off the first tee.

Eighteen holes later I had finished an 11 over 83. 36 putts including a four-banger but that's okay, the greens were unfamiliar to me and I can do better next time. Beefy course, almost 6900 yards and a respectable 123 slope. I was glad to have come here, it was what my sagging game needed. I had been moaning about my game sucking and what not but in this round I felt comfortable over the ball and left the course feeling actually excited about my swing and the way I struck it. I am also pretty high on this golf course now. It used to be a real shithole and now it's turned into a real golfer's zone, a place where good golf might actually mean something. Crying or Very sad

Shot a 53 on Sunday. Sadly, it was in nine holes. There was a time when I would have been happy with that score, but not anymore. I just played sloppy golf in general, and I got away with a few really bad shots. Things started out well enough, as I went bogey, bogey, bogey. It's unusual for me to start out with anything less than a double. Unfortunately the wheels came off on the fourth hole and for the next three holes I couldn't seem to do much right. I reattached the wheels on the 9th hole, but too late to salvage a sub-50 score.

Man that's pretty good. Don't make me break out my "Modern day warrior, mean mean stride, today's Tom Watson, mean mean pride..."
