Perfect here today ... low 70s with plenty of sun and a slight breeze. Supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow, but still outstanding.

Over the past couple of weeks, the average wind speed has been in excess of 20 mph. I can't complain too much. We've had more nice days this spring so far than the rest of my life combined. Last Thursday and Friday, it was 95+, but the humidity was low. And that is beautiful weather to me. But the rest of the last few weeks has just been windy. Gusts yesterday, today, and tomorrow in excess of 30 mph. One day last week saw gusts in excess of 50 mph. I've spent a lot of time at the practice facilities as a result, but I'm ready to play a round now. I'll play in the rain. I'll play in the snow. I'll play when the heat index is 130. But I friggin' just can't take it when the wind is in excess of 30 mph.

Were you talking to me, Joe? Are you in Phoenix? If so, I'll see what I can do to get away. I'd sure like to get in a round of golf (or six) while I'm in Phoenix, but it is for work. And I'm not sure what they are going to have planned for me.

That said, it was 95 here yesterday with the dewpoint in the mid 70's. That equals a heat index of about 120. That means tornado weather. The winds were gusting 40 mph after I got off work, and when I was halfway home, the tornado sirens started going off. Nothing touched down, but it's tough to golf under conditions like that.

Yup, here too. Had a couple days of rain, and the sun is supposed to be shining throught the long weekend, which means I'll be mowing the lawn again this weekend. I really need to get the riding mower running (need to replace the fuel line & filter).

Yes, I live in Sun City West which is 20 miles NW of downtown Phoenix. We have 4 championship courses and I have a threesome every Friday so you are welcome to join us. Let me know if you can get away for a few hours to play.

Sounds good. I'll let you know when (if) I get an itinerary. I'm actually trying to get a transfer either to the Phoenix area or New Mexico (I'd actually prefer New Mexico...the Roswell area, but I'll take what I can get to get out of the wind, humidity, and cold).

I didn't get around to getting in any golf while I was in Phoenix, unfortunately. The hottest day while I was down there was 106, and it was abso-friggin-lutely beautiful.

Got back to Minneapolis on Friday. Temp was 80 and humid. Absolutely horrible. I immediately wanted to go back to the 106 in Phoenix. In other words, I'll take 106 in Phoenix any day of the week over 80 in Minneapolis.

And then Saturday came. Back in Fargo by noon. By 3:00 PM, it was 97 degrees with winds gusting in excess of 35 mph. Ugh.

We have had about a week straight of absolutely PERFECT golf weather. Unfortunately, perfect golf weather is also pefect weather for yard work.

Yeah...that dry desert weather is awesome. Don a hat, put on some sunscreen, and bring plenty of water. Makes for a great day!
