i want to get out bad, but too busy right now. i'm gonna try to sneak out next week before our 2 week trip to montana to visit my sister-in-law, then probably get back to it once a week starting in july, doesn't look like i'm going to achieve 2 of the 3 6-mo goals i set for myself, will have to post some new ones.

same old story, decent round stats wise, just putted horribly (36) for 18 holes, someday it will come around and I will break 80 consistently again. shot 84 today.

Went on a little trip with my girlfriend and our dog to Lake Placid NY. He got carsick and yakked in the backseat on the way there and then went on to have the time of his life. It wasn't planned but I wound up playing 18 at the Mountain Course at Lake Placid GC. When I found out I could play on an Alister Mackenzie design course with nobody on it, for $50 I could not pass it up.

It is a ridiculous course. It's not called Mountain course for nothing. It is so steep and mountainous it could double as a ski resort.To get you around the course there are "direction sticks" and crazy tall signposts that try to give you a clue as to where the target is. The flag sticks here are twelve feet high I kid you not, and still sometimes barely visible from the tee. Unbelievable blind shots all over this course. But it had a certain rough, rustic, mountaineering kind of charm. So not too bothered by shooting 90, think aside from two bad holes I played ok for a newbie playing alone on a devilish course for the first time.

That sounds like fun. I love playing courses like that . I like the courses where you get on the green and then your happy to stay on the green after your first putt

Blah, shot a 95 (not good for me) on the Judge Course at Capitol Hill with an eagle (my second ever, both this year.) Says something about my day when the eagle was not even the most notable occurance in my foursome today, as one of the guys I was paired up with got a hole in one.

I played what is, to date, the nicest course I've ever played on Friday. It's called Stonebrook in Shakopee, MN. They had a ferry on hole 7 to bring us across the forced carry water hazard. And the greens were ultra fast and true. My putting, while not great, was the best it has been in quite a while.

It was such a beautiful day on saturday, i took my wife, []foodisabirdie[] out to Four Seasons to walk 18 holes. PLAYING!!!!!!!!! So we went and got hooked up with a really nice retired couple and had a fun day of playing! I shot []74[] and she shot a very respectable []111[] (with ESC, but without it was only 119 - she made me say it). I say we go down to florida and put her up against Player and see who wins was going to play 9 holes again today but instead we hit the 18 hole disc golf course near the house. didn't keep score, just enjoyed another spectacular day! on a side note.... man can she putt. might have found a new scramble buddy.

@ Beef. You have to play Mohonk Mountain House. It's a little 9 holer but not as far as Lake Placid from NYC. Lots of blind shots and lots of cool places to stay in the area.

I shot 43 today for 9. It felt great. Need to maintain focus.

Yes, I am learning to love this aspect of the game. Golf is not only played on "the six inches between the ears", it's not just about you wrestling your own fallibility, it is not a hopelessly mental internal struggle like these 21st century talking heads drone on about ad nauseum. I think I'm tired of approaching the game that way. Golf is also about adventuring, challenging God's natural terrain, trying to navigate your ball safely through all kinds of obstacles and hazards both seen and unseen.

Crazy fun []9 holes[] after work today. 4 over for 40, two 3 putts. But some wacky shots in there. Chipped one down a cart path (on purpose... part genius / part jackass golf shot). A hole out birdie. A par off a solid tree incident. Another par from the edge of fw bunker and a flop shot over greenside bunker. And first time ever going driver, driver, hybrid, hybrid, putt for a par on final par 5.

shot a 91 today, almost went without any triples until 11, when I caught a bad break with ball coming to rest on a sand shelf left by some golfer just below lip of bunker. otherwise it was a solid round of golf for me, and felt like it could have been better, since it seemed like I had a lot of back luck with lies and slightly wayward tee shots being completely blocked out from a clear approach adding strokes here and there. nothing felt glaringly bad. pleased with my progress in chipping and putting
