Another up and down round, this time for a 100, which is one of my best rounds ever ... but it could have been oh so much better. I had 50 on the first nine and 50 on the back, but those two nines couldn't have been different. I started on the back nine, and started out with a promising par. I folllowed that up with a bad hole, then another par, then another bad hole, then a birdie. I was getting whiplash out there! The second nine was much more consistent, which a bunch of bogies and no pars.
I'm hitting a lot of shots better than I ever had before, but I'm still prone to the same mistakes that have kept me in the triple digits. If I can just get a few things to fall my way, I'm going to hit the next level. I'm SO close to being a double digit golfer that I can taste it.

@SteveMM... remember 18 bogies means you just shot 90 (assuming par 72)... Go get 'em.

How about a 36/48... what?
1 over on front, 11 over on back. Really unravelled on the back more than necessary. But such is life.

101 (fashnrashnfashn).

Downside: It should have been 97.
Upside: It's still my best score over 18 and I scored a par on the most difficult hole on the course.
Now, where are the stats? They've not uploaded!

82 on Sunday. The best ballstriking day yet with the new clubs. Focused on staying down on my shots, took several clean divots which is not my norm. Only two mishits, stood up on one and topped it and stayed down too well on one and smothered it. Extremely baffled with 39 putts, including missing an 8 inch par putt (there is a reason we don't do alot of gimme's in my group), take out the three 3 putts and would've had my best score on home track.

Well it finally happened! I was able to get out and play 18 holes for the first time in 8 long months! I didnt warm up or take any practice putts but still felt good. I shot an 89 with only 1 lost ball. I only sliced the Driver once and pulled it left about 3 times. My driver was long, FW's were dry and it was hot so that might have helped but i was hitting driver wedge on a lot of holes. On a par 3 114 yards i hit a 56* about 4 yards over the green. Not sure but seem to have found some extra length. Chipping was rusty, hit a lot of chips long past the hole. Even tho i 3-putted a couple times my putting felt really good, i was not seeing the breaks that good but i was rolling it well and made a couple 10+ footers but missed a couple inside 3ft. All in all i was happy to see my game was still intact and i could demolish my father in law with ease still.

Just shot a 2 over 74 at dauphin highland from the blues. Dang I needed some long clubs on some of those holes to get to the green. Really drove the ball well and hit some great putts to save par absolutely great day. Play a scramble tomorrow then birdiex and I are hitting iron valley Sunday. He wants to play the tips, could be a long day.

nice round jbeck.
for me an 83 with four birdies today. Still could have had several strokes out there but game is feeling good right now i.e. today.
Personal record 3 birdies in a row. Is it greedy to be a little disappointed that the eagle putt didn't drop?
I also had a couple stinky shots so guess it evens out.

Finally got out yesterday and put up a +12 84 at Marine Park GC. I have been playing this course lately and enjoying the challenge even if it is raising my score average and handicap.
One of the big challenges here is the length--6875y from the back tees. The first two par 4s are 436y and 465y and almost always play into a two club wind minimum. Not to mention they are fairly tight and flanked by fescue. On the 465y hole I teed off with a 3w and attempted to play it as a three-shotter and still made 6. The key here is to get through these first three long, upwind holes without getting yourself all frustrated and making big numbers.
I went +4 for these holes but then I settled in and strung some pars together. I made some bonehead moves as well as got confused on the greens a few times but I managed to enjoy the round enough, and that is what its all about I guess.

46/55 this morning for a 101 on a course I've never played. Happy overall with the total score, but when you get a 46 on the front nine, you should absolutely break 100. Two highlights on the front nine:
-On #8 I hit a 30+ foot putt for birdie
-On #9 I had a 30+ foot chip-in for par
I was on cloud nine obviously, going into the 10th. Then, I proceeded to slog through a mess of doubles and triples on the back nine. Frustrating, but I have to remind myself where I am compared to last year this time.
