One of my friends responded with "Is it even light then" when I told him we had a 530 tee time Saturday morning.

Apparently our clubs first official tee time is 545, so we can go out early and get a head start.

What day/time do you normally play, and what times do you avoid?

I have a semi-regular game with some friends at the University of Michigan for twilight once during each week. I tend to play in the afternoon more often than not but the last 5 rounds my starting times were: 8:05am (1st time of the day), 1:00pm, 9:00am, 11:30am and 5:50pm.

I am an economy golfer. The definition of that is all I can get for the least amount of green. I play several times a week. Heat doesn't bother me either. Cheaper the better.

I will play anytime of day. Use to play mostly in the afternoon. For the last couple of years have had my weekly game starting around 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. Now I try to get everything for as early as I can.

On summer-Sundays usually somewhere around 7 am (except when taking part in a competition which usually starts at 9 or so). But I do prefer a more sleep-friendly time like ehm... 2 pm or so. A 7pm start is good too in summer.

Between 2 and 4 down here in Florida is a great time to play...I love the heat, and the courses are virtually deserted then....and you can't beat the prices

It gets over 100 in Bakersfield too, I would play Twilight at 110, and there is still a wait at some of these damn courses.

My new fave, you can walk out and get around pretty quick in the evenings, hot or not.
110 hurts you though, costs $20 a round just for drinks.

I'm trying to organize a 100+ special with the club to give away Cooler Bags with Free Cold Water for 100+ days to boost the rounds.
If you got a free cooler bag with a couple of Ice Cold Waters Free would you consider a crazy hot day?

at my home course i am the second group off at about 0645 hours, done by 1000-1015. in south florida it is hot and muggy by 0930 want to beat the heat an pre 0800 is a discount much like twilight rates. Also leaves me the rest of the day to spend with the wife and kids. BTW usually play on the same days all the time thursday and saturday. If I play outside my home course it will be on thursday and usually in the morning.

I have an afternoon membership at my club. I can play as often as I want, any day, after 1PM as part of my membership. Soooo, on weekends when I am not working, I tee off usually between 1 and 2:30. During the week, I play as soon as I can sneak out of work, usually between 3:30 and 5. During the longer days of the year--from June 1-July 15th or so--I sometimes don't get out til 6, but can usually still get in 18 by dark. Last Sunday, I went up to the range at the club to try something out in my swing. Liked the way I was hitting the ball so figured I'd go play nine to see if I could make it stick for real. It was 7:15. I was finished with the front nine by about 8:20. (And, oh yeah, I made it stick!)

Not too long ago, it was Friday mornings between 7 and 8. Now that I'm working properly again I haven't been out yet, but when I start up again in the next few weeks it will be on Sundays at whenever we get a decent rate on Tee Times Now, Golf Ohio or EZ Links.
