Ok so here are my top 5:

1) John Daly- He has been and will always be my favorite. I know he hasnt played well and has also had alot going on in his life. But I still think he is a great golfer.
2) Kenny Perry- No not just because he is having a great year this year. I remember watching him a few years back and he has such an effortless smooth swing. I also like the fact that he keeps his commitments.
3) Brandt Snedeker- Yeah I know he cried at the Masters, but to me that means he plays with his heart. He also went to Vandy and since I am from Tennessee, and I hate the Volunteers. Vandy is that much better.
4) Michael Thompson- You know the highest finishing amateur in the US Open in 2008. He played for my favorite college sports team, UofA- Roll Tide!
5) Tiger Woods- I can't leave him out. He is the most dominant golfer ever.

You can add yours as well!

1) Phil.. cause he's a damn good golfer, yet at times, he tries something retarded much like myself.
2) John Daly.. nothing like an overweight guy smoking and drinking and hitting the long ball.
3) Tiger.. we're lucky to be able to watch the amazing things he's doing in golf.
4) Rocco Mediate.. simply because I can't get him going toe to toe with Tiger. I'll be a fan of Rocco's till he moves on to senior golf after the great 5 days he gave us.
5) The guys I play with every Saturday and days in between. Watching the pros on TV is great, but nothing like seeing the fellow hacker you play with regularly hit one stiff to inches from the cup.

i usually will root for the underdog or someone who is clearly fighting some adversity and sticking with it.

the lists change a lot

but while watching the british i'd say i like

1. david duval : he played soo great friday and after all he's been through would be nice to see him in top 10.
2. norman : he gave us a thrill and he hasn't played a major for soo long

3. winn mcmurry : she's cute and she knows her golf. i think she kicking ass on the "expert opinion picks"
expert standings at the bottom of the link.

4. john daly : played poorly and perhaps even injured and yet still finished both rounds.

5. chris wood : the amatuer that played well and finsihed low. good job on him.

When Tiger is playing and especially when he is in contention, I watch and root for him. I am thankful that he came along in my lifetime. I have met him and spoken to him and he is, hands down, my favorite golfer. However I have followed the careers of the following players for years and have gone to watch them play in tournaments. Great players and great guys !!

1) Freddy Couples

2) Mark O'Meara

3) Tom Lehman

4) Steve Stricker

5) Corey Pavin

1 - Aaaron Baddely..very mature and smart player plus arguably the best putter on tour.

2 - Sergio Garcia..amazing ballstriker and driver, if he would have putted better in the past he would've easily gotten a handful of majors.

3 - Henrik Stenson..hits it a mile and can get up and down from anywhere.

4 - Adam Scott..beautiful swing and tempo.

5 - Luke Donald..great shortgame and precision.

1. Phil Mickelson - A fellow lefty and a creative shot maker as well as a risk taker (even though it doesn't always work) I really have respect for those who aren't afraid to risk it all- win, lose, or draw.

2. Padgraig Harrington - He's awesome to watch play and such a comanding ball striker. Intensity in his swing and fun to watch especially when he's winning.

3. Robert Karlsson - His swing is so prescise and fluid. No more movement than is required in his swing.

4. Tiger - C'mon the guy is just unbelievable.

T5. Anthony Kim/Camilo Villegas - Gotta root for the new up and comers. Both are fun to watch and will be for years to come.

Of current professionals:

1. Phil - gotta love his game - especially the short game - and his confidence to go for just about anything. He's a good version of the guy we all play with that tries shots just for the story.

2. Freddy - great attitude and personality, not to mention that swing.

3. Darren Clarke - One of the most likable players in the world. I would love to play 18 with him then go to pub for some pints.

4. Ernie - similar to Freddy in some ways. Great personality and beautiful swing.

5a. Luke Donald - he's just the classic gentleman on and off the course, plus his swing is about as fundamentally perfect as any player in the game.

5b. David Toms - so easy going and likeable. He's one of those guys that succeeds despite not having the raw tools of most guys, plus he's one of the best putters in the game.

5c. Jim Furyk - another really good guy. I love his never-give-up attitude and his bulldog mentality. I also love that he doesn't have classic swing and has made it work for him.

All-time favorite player:

Tom Watson - great player - even greater person. Plus he is one of the best scramblers ever to play.
