Hey guys, thought some of you might find this interesting. I got bored last weekend and decided to do some custom paint fill on my clubs. I filled all my numbers with red and all the Cleveland script on the bottom of my irons with black. Also, I filled in the Eidolon logo on my 56' with red, it looks the sweetest I think. It was really a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Check out the link.

Your clubs are all ILLEGAL now. A club may not be altered in any way.

sepfeiff - I used acrylic paint which was a mistake. The paint is starting to chip off now. I needed to use an enamel paint like the "testors" brand paints that they sell for painting models. I actually just got a new set of irons, so if I decide to do the paint fill on them, I will use the different paint and let everyone know how it holds up.

kidputter - The rules say you can't alter a club mid-round. It is absolutely legal to alter your clubs outside of a round. Pros put lead tape on their putters all the time, you just can't adjust it mid round. Aside from all that, I don't plan on taking my 18 handicap to Q-school or US open qualifying anytime soon.

Thanks - i'll try it. I've knocked the paint off of my old clubs after years of play.

Edit: added my before pic

Clubs look nice. Some before pics would have been nice to show off the difference. Thanks for the good tips though.

Finally got around to painting them up. Look pretty good. Numbers on bottom are still drying. Color is "The Thrill of Brazil" Shocked

-Dental pick to get the old paint out.
-Acetone and a toothbrush to prep the surface, remove extra bits
-Toothpick to fill letters with nail polish, let dry for an hour
-Slow and firm with a razor blade to remove extra nail polish
-Acetone on a paper towel rubbing lightly in circles to remove excess

Kingwood hacker told me that red gives you 5 extra yards and I'm trying to get my 14 year old son interested, so I figure I'll appeal to his perception of hitting the ball farther. It is a pure coincidence that red happens to be his school color. These clubs have been in a box in the corner since last summer, but let's hope this earns them a day on the range with a new owner! Very Happy

Ah, red. Like playing from the red tees would prolly give you more than 5 yards per hole! Very Happy.

Without kidding, it looks good.
