I'm buying this, but am interested in your thoughts on whether it will hurt or help your game.

This looks like a great way for the novice to see what areas they may need to work on. I'm getting it just because it looks cool. I'm looking for the club that used to be sold for the Wii. Maybe that will give the trainer a more true-to-life feel.

It certainly looks interesting, I would need to read some first hand reviews before taking the plunge.

Having never seen one first hand, is the Wii balance board big enough for a person to adopt a normal width stance for swinging a driver in this 'game'?
My other concern is how can you analyse a swing from using the Wii-mote. Your balance and mechanics would not be the same without a real club in your hands. Grooving a swing using the controller could possibly be detrimental to your swing with a club.

The whole idea makes for a great game, but as a training and development tool, I am not so sure, however I would love to be proved wrong.

The balance board, for me is probably a little smaller width wise for my driver, but I've been told that my stance is too wide anyways... because I've turned into a couch potatoe, I recently bought the Wii Fit Plus. I'll tell you what, I thought my balance was "ok", until I got on that thing. In addition to the exercises, it has a little mini golf driving range. It measures your balance when set up, and through your swing, and shows your weight transfer. My center of balance was way off and after practicing a few days, I felt more balanced on the course today from off the tee and my drives showed it. Might be all in my head though...The Personal Trainer thing is supposed to out in October, but it's not in any store I could find yet. Oh, and there is some guy who built a contraption to fit the controller on a real golf club: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFlvYLjFVxI Looks like too much of a hassle for me though...

Yeah, I'm with you Kevin; at this point, I don't think it would hurt my game any.

If definitely looks like it could be very beneficial since the game records or attempts to rectify balance and swing plane. I feel these are probably two of the biggest problems for me at the moment.

Any idea on price?

not sure what it costs...as soon as I find out and as soon as it hits the stores, I'll post it here. With the way the Wii can track your movements using the balance board, and the new motion plus gizmo, you'd think that eventually someone is going to come out with a full sized golf club, tennis racket, etc to go with it. That in my opinion is one of the things holding back these types of games. Swinging a remote is a lot different than swinging a club. There are other golf simulators out there (Dancing Dog for one) that appear to be good, but they are pricey. I'm looking at this thing because I'm guessing the game will be reasonably priced and I already bought the Wii for the kids.....plus I'm using the Wii Fit now and am trying to get in better shape.

lol. I need to trim that circle down a little but more concerned with gaining some of the strength I've lost over the years. My arms are looking like Sponge Bob Square Pants arms......

another website says it's slated to be released at the end of the year in the US. Not sure about Italy...I did find some screenshots of the game and it looks pretty cool. I posted them on my website:

www.rivercityhackers.com

note: they are in the first article. For some reason it takes a few minutes for them to show up, so if Part 2 is not the top article, try back later....
