When you say "custom fit", what exactly do you mean? In my mind custom fitting has to be done by swinging a gazillion different clubs with varying length of shafts, flex, kick point, weight, material...then grip type, style, diameter...then heads of different weight, size, offset. Then you have to find out if your set goes 3-PW or 5-PW, maybe you carry hybrids, woods (9W for 190yds?)...sure sounds like a pain in the butt!
I bought 3&5 woods last year...hit them for about 75 rounds and never felt comfortable with them...sold the pair and bought a new 5W to replace them both, this one feels great and I hit it well. I lost about 20 yards over the previous 3W (i can live with that) and can choke up a bit and get the same distance I was getting with the old 5W..."GREAT" I told myself. But now I've started hitting my driver longer and that can get me into trouble on my local courses, so I need a club that goes about 30-50 yards shorter....that would have been my old 3W, oops...I sold it! I'm a little fed up with buying gear, so I think I'll just focus on avoiding 3 putts, or something.
Anybody need a caddy? I really like walking the courses, but the game is ticking me off!
