Thanks for trying to clarify this ridiculous game that we play.
So basically, using problem child hole #2 (index 5), if I'm playing stroke and take 6 shots, then I've played to my handicap, however if I'm playing stableford and take 6 shots (1 point) I've played one over my handicap?
The card for my course, and several others I've played on, only has the handicap index.
If we just use the handicap index then why bother having a stroke index as well, seeing as it can be derived from the handicap index.
It's just that this affects stat tracking for us high handicappers when it comes to achieving par with the aid of our handicap.
The "GolfCard" iPhone program which has lead me to your website only allows one entry for the index which means that my stableford score will always be incorrect. It's just something to keep in mind if stableford scores are being kept/tracked. I'll run this by the GolfCard guys and see what their take on the situation is.
Cheers
Freddie
