In my neck of the woods, we have some nice courses, but no wifi on the course. Is there a way we can input scoring as we go without having an internet connection? I have several courses saved, but would like to score on the course with oob then sync at home where I have an internet connection.
Cheers,
Joel

What application are you using? I believe most of them will do this, including Smartscorecard, GolfCard and Fore!

I am using the SmartScoreCard from the app store on my touch, but without wifi I can not log in to the app to set my tee data, therefor I can not create a scorecard. We have a nice 27 hole course, and the two nines that make the 18 change every day and the third nine is for short play. Have I perhaps missed something?

I don't use smartscorecard much, but I believe that you can connect and download the scorecard, then go play the course, and when you come home it will upload. You can ask them directly at http://www.smartscorecard.com

What one do you use? Can I take that as a recommendation?

I have downloaded several apps since first posting. I have now decided on Tee-Shot from the app store. Compared to others it is rather pricey, but after playing with it I can easily enter my own courses or down load pre-entered ones and it syncs with oob I think. Nevertheless I can now have several courses in my iPod ready to go with or without Internet, which I could not do with oob's app.

Joelks, great to hear you found one tee shot does sync with oobgolf. As a note smartscorecard is not "oobs app" we don't make any of the 6 or so iphone applications that all sync to the website. We are focused on making this the best central hub for all of your scores and letting users choose the best way to get them in even if its someone elses application or device.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am not sure where I got the idea that golfscorecard was oob's app. I probably learned of oob at the same time I found the app. My mistake. Anyway, the app is a good one, but it has the shortcoming I mentioned. As for TeeShot, I do like it except it is 20.00. It is fairly simple to input courses on the fly as you golf so if your not holding up play you will have your info for a later date. Also it is then there stored on your device to score your game for later sync. It also allows importing players from contacts for Apple folks or by hand. It is a good one I think. Anyway, thanks for the discussion, Really enjoy oob!
Cheers,
Joel
